Julia Barkhouse began dancing at the age of 4 in Ballet, Jazz and Modern. While training at home in Nova Scotia she completed her Advanced 2 RAD Exam with Distinction and attended Summer Intensives at Canada’s National Ballet School, Royal Winnipeg Ballet, and L’ecole Supérieure de Ballet du Québec. Julia joined Canada’s National Ballet School in 2019 under the direction of Mavis Staines. After graduating, Julia moved to Vancouver to attend Arts Umbrella’s Graduate Program under the direction of Artemis Gordon. She has performed works by world-renowned choreographers such as Crystal Pite, Ethan Colangelo, and William Forsythe. Julia is excited to be back home teaching while studying Psychology at Dalhousie University.
